Looking for care+support?

Domestic help around the home

There are times when you may need help in the home. This could be short term - say after a hospital stay or longer term due to an injury or an ongoing illness.

To be eligible for the Commonwealth Home Support Program funding you will need:

  • To be assessed under My Aged Care;
  • Have a referral or referral code from My Aged Care;
  • Live in the Far North Coast area.

Others who may access our Domestic assistance service include:

  • Those who have a NDIS plan
  • Are a Home Care package customer
  • Wish to purchase privately
  • Are eligible for DVA services

What is domestic assistance?

Our staff are there to assist you to manage your life at home.  Jobs we can assist you with include vacuuming, mopping floors, essential ironing, meal preparation, shopping, putting out the bins, washing, and changing the bed or cleaning the bathroom - all the bigger jobs that can be difficult to manage.

How do I get started?

If you have a Home Care Package or NDIS plan  call our Customer Service Team directly

If over 65 years  or ATSI and over 50 years, contact My Aged Care on 1800 200 422 and register, then they will organise for an assessment by the Aged Care Assessment Team (ACAT) or the Regional Assessment Service (RAS).  You can then request which organisation you would like to work with you.

Veterans need to contact the DVA number 1800 555 254 to arrange for an assessment first. If already eligible you can request for our service to work with you.

If wanting to organise or discuss your needs directly please contact our Customer Service team who can provide the information and quotes for your particular needs.

How much does it cost?

This is dependent on which type of service you are eligible under.
For example,
- If a Veteran you will pay the DVA copayment set rate.
- If on a NDIS plan then the full fee is costed to your plan.
- If eligible under My Aged Care a subsidised fee is charged.
- If a private customer please see our Fees and Charges.

How can I get more information?

Contact us and our friendly staff will respond.
Of course you can phone 6645 0400 for a chat or to arrange a visit.

Our Hospital 2 Home service may also be of benefit.
