What is the Green Room Community Program?
The Green Room Community program provides learning opportunities through social experiences such as friendships, volunteer work and active participation in the local community.
The program promotes:
- Healthy lifestyle with its cooking, eating & physical activity focus.
- Learning and skill development through individual specific training such as computer skills, budgeting and travel training.
- Socialisation that includes volunteering at local organisations such as radio stations, nursing homes and libraries.
The current activity program highlights how this is achieved.
What type of assistance is available?
We provide individual and group learning and work experience programs with a large focus on the development of skills and having fun. We go on entertaining day trips, such as exploring the local area and culture, museums, cinemas, shopping, local festivals and dining out. Travel training is also promoted for independence.
The aim of the Green Room is:
- to have lots of fun,
- develop and foster friendships,
- learn new skills for independence and interests,
- socialising in a friendly atmosphere with fully qualified staff in a respectful and welcoming environment.
Can I use my NDIS funds to attend this program?
Yes the Green Room is NDIS registered. For community access prices the NDIA website is always current.

Can I attend as a private customer?
Yes, you can attend and pay the same rate as the current NDIS price guide. You will be invoiced at the end of each month dependent on your bookings for that month.
Are the team members qualified?
Our team are qualified in Person Centred active support model through the University of Sydney Centre for Disability Studies. Ongoing training is provided for all staff and they come with a variety of skills to be able to offer more activities.
Where is the Green Room?
The Green Room is a community program with the base being a lovely heritage home at 4 Short St Maclean. With a variety of rooms each person can work on their own project or join in the group. Recliner chairs, fully equipped kitchen, exercise equipment, garden areas, computers and chill out areas all make for some great times.
